A Roar For Powerful Words!

roarlarge.jpgJedijawa of This is Not My Blog awarded me a blogging award today! Seriously. Yes, there are blogging awards. OK, yes they’re virtual so I can’t put it on my mantle. STILL!!

I have received a “Roar For Powerful Words!”, been instructed to write three rules I think make for good, powerful writing and then award five bloggers I find worthy. (Oh, the power!!)

First, my rules.

  1. Don’t get hung up on rules. (Sounds weird to have this as a rule, huh?) Worry less about grammar and more about getting your point across to the reader. Don’t lock yourself into a blog “theme” so tightly that you can’t write about other really cool stuff when you want. Lighten up, it’s just a blog.
  2. Don’t hide your heart. When I care about stuff, you’ll know it. If I’m ticked off about something, that’s going to show, too. Even if I don’t agree with what you have to say, I will still enjoy you saying it with gusto. <Here, handing you a soapbox> Now get up there and say it!
  3. Write a LOT. Like anything else – the more you practice, the better you get.

And my pick of five bloggers to share in the “Roar For Powerful Words” are:

Real Life & Real Estate in Bonita Springs Florida is written by my friend Chris Griffith. She makes Bonita Springs come to life in her blog, so much that I feel like I would have major deja vue if I were to visit. What a beautiful place with so much cool stuff to do!  If you can’t be in West Virginia, I bet you’d want to be there.

Focus on Frederick MD is written by Bob Carney, who tells it like it is in the housing market and makes it fun and entertaining. He also shows a great sense of humor through the camera lens.  :o)

Eastern Connecticut Real Estate by Linda Davis has a strong political bent and a lot of heart. Through her blogging voice, I know I’d feel comfortable stopping by her office to visit with her and the office cats.  And just look how pretty it is where she lives!

The Blog That Ate Miami by Maggie Dokic shows an incredible connection to her city. She cares about the people, the place and the stuff that happens there. Reading her blog can make you feel like a cherished family member.

And finally, Our St.Paul! by Jay Merton and Boomer Jack Boardman is a blend of real life and a fantasy world known as Danger Bay. Several of the bloggers mentioned above have made Danger Bay into a virtual hometown. The Codgers have no fear – they’re equally comfortable taking on serious social issues or showing off their colorful imaginations. Either way, you’ll be glad you read.

Yes, they were all at least somewhat connected to real estate. This is the most “on topic” I’ve been in ages.  :o)

Thanks again, jedijawa!
