FLU!!!

SNIFF!If you’ve had the flu, the very word is scary. My husband and I had the flu together at Christmas one year, thankfully before we had children. We were proud of ourselves because we were able to crawl out of bed in the morning. Sure, all we did was drag ourselves to the living room couch (OK, it was pulled out into a bed), but all that effort made us still feel slightly human.

The flu is AWFUL and I’m careful to get my flu shot every year now.

In the last two weeks there have been 105 new cases of the flu reported at Cabell Huntington Hospital alone. Use these tips to help stop the spread of the flu in our area:

  • Wash your hands. Just like your Mom said. Sometimes simple is still best.
  • Stay away from sick people. (Yes, this is permission.)
  • If you’re sick, stay home. (This helps everyone else follow the previous tip.)
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you sneeze. Think about it.
  • Try not to touch your nose, mouth and eyes. If you’ve picked up germs, that’s the best way to keep ‘em and let ‘em grow.

Be careful out there!
