Improving my Habit
Next week I’ll be making a trip to Philadelphia to attend Real Estate BarCamp. This BarCamp is being run by good friends of mine and I volunteered to help out in whatever way I could from here. When the idea was thrown out for a blogging challenge, I knew that was where I could lend a hand. Our final idea was just to encourage the habit of daily blogging - easy enough, right? Our contestants (and judges!) have accepted the challenge to blog daily for 21 days in an attempt to set a good blogging habit.
That’s it, that’s all that’s required. Write a blog post a day for 21 days. It doesn’t even have to be on the same blog. For those days when work and family are more than enough to keep you busy, it’s even acceptable just to throw a photo on a photo blog. It’s just the habit of daily posting that we’re working on.
That should be easy enough, right?
Then why do I suddenly remember the blogging challenge and feel like this:

Some things just aren’t as easy as they seem.

This is so true. As I type this, I realize I should be over posting on my site the blog for today. Thanks for challenging and pushing me to post regularly. I’ll be a better blogger for it.

Oh my gosh - that’s exactly how I feel every day since I decided to take part is this challenge!! And just before I sign off for the night, I manage to get a post up, so I can take part again the next day. And speaking of that……. I best get back to trying to magically create my next post…..

So glad I’m not the only one! Are the emails going to you, Sarah? Have you noticed the time that mine are coming across…I seem to squeak them in just before midnight! Whew! I have a habit of getting ready to put the computer and myself to sleep and THEN realizing that I haven’t posted for the day. One of these days I’ll get ahead! Thanks for the challenge, I’m really enjoying it!

Dale - I know what I’ll be blogging tonight, and that feels like half the battle won!
Ann - It is making me realize that there is more to cover than I would have thought. Sometimes the little details of daily life don’t seem worth writing about, but taken together they do give the flavor of a place. I’m still working on what I want this blog to “be”, and I think this helps.
Sarah - Eeeek! Did you miss a day? I haven’t been able to do 21DIBH reading in a couple days, I hadn’t seen!
Shar - There are three of us that are doing the 21DIBH reading, and I’ve slacked off the last couple days because my kids have had extra activities that are keeping us on the move. (I’m hoping to get back on track today!) Planning ahead a day and banking a post would help SOOOO much, but I can’t seem to get there! But it does help, doesn’t it?
