Max
Little One and I went to Little Victories yesterday to learn about their socialization program and meet the dogs we’re going to help get ready for their future families. The more I get to know about Little Victories, the more impressed I am with the caring and thought that goes into their work with the animals.
We were given a tour and introduced to all the dogs. With so much information thrown my way, I’ve forgotten most of their names but tried to remember the little quirks of each dog. We were allowed to choose our own dog assignment if we felt called to a certain dog, and of course I had already fallen hard for one. My assigned dog is Max.
Max was abused by his former owner, and as a tiny puppy he came to Little Victories with a broken leg. (If you want to see a picture of him as he looked when he first arrived, click here.) I felt for him as a victim of abuse and my “Momma bear” instincts kicked in — I want him to have the best life possible. He deserves it. They all do.
Max is about 10 months old now and he is a trusting, loving puppy. He’s been through a lot in his short life but has kept a pure heart and is filled with joy. He’s striped almost like a tiger and he’ll be a beautiful dog someday. See? I’m rambling — I’m in love.
And I have very good news! Beau Bridges, the first dog in my series about Little Victories, has been adopted! Yay, Beau!!
I’ll leave you with one more photo to ponder. Look at those eyes!
This is one from a litter of six week old pups and they’re all absolutely gorgeous! See how easy it is to fall in love?
