Meet Beau Bridges

Beau Bridges, Up For Adoption

Smoochy BeauIn the first in what I hope becomes a series here on The Scoop, I want to share with you the story of a pet who needs a home — and let’s try to get him one, OK?  I went to the Little Victories Animal Rescue Group and met Beau Bridges, a Pitt Bull who is in desperate need of a home.

Beau is probably two years old and has been at Little Victories since June. That is a LONG time to live in a shelter. Beau really wants a home and people to love, but he has a problem that makes him difficult to adopt — he has allergic dermatitis. The poor sweetie is allergic to grass. Can you imagine a dog who can’t play outside? Beau needs to be a house dog only. He’ll require a great commitment as he’ll need to be walked on a leash several times a day no matter the weather. (If you are a fan of regular exercise, he may be your perfect dog!) He’ll be spending a lot of time with his new owners and I expect he will form an extremely close bond with his future family.

Beau with a TreatIn case learning of his medical needs makes you think, “Huge vet bills,” let me reassure you. Beau takes regular, over the counter Benadryl. If his skin gets especially itchy he likes a nice oatmeal bath. If you have dry skin or allergies, maybe you can relate.

Beau really likes other dogs but we’re unsure of how he feels about cats. He loved my 11 year old daughter but I don’t know any more than that about how he relates to children. Beau’s very affectionate and not overly excitable. He eats regular dog food.

If you’d like a loving, loyal dog and are comfortable with Beau’s needs, please contact Little Victories at (304) 743-5802.

    Sarah,
Thanks for taking the time to come out to the refuge. If even one animal gets adopted because of you sharing your blog space and time with us, it will be yet another little victory. Thanks again and keep us updated if you get much response.

Beau is darling. You can just see in his eyes that he’s a lover.

As an occasional visitor to the Little Victories refuge (I am allergic to DOGS and I, too, manage that with benedryl) I just wish I could take Beau home. He is very sweet and responds eagerly to please. He is part pit and I was told part shar pei, but there are no wrinkles on him. He will make someone a wonderful wonderful family pet.
