Teays Valley Elementary School
This has been a cause of some stress for the Scott Teays students as that school feeds into Hurricane’s rival school system of Winfield. Parents and students alike have worried about the possibility of children being removed from their current school systems to fit the new districts, or splitting families by sending older students through one system and younger kids through another.
At this week’s school board meeting however, it was decided that students currently in Winfield Middle and High will remain, and any younger siblings of these students will be allowed to continue in Winfield schools.

Redistricting…so bad here you have to call just about every year to see if you kid is going to the same school next year. The boarders move all the time.
Look at all the opportunities to make new friends! You best friend might be there you have never even met yet.

Boundary changes and new schools are always tricky. You can never make anyone happy. At least this will alleviate any issues with over-crowding!

Now is the rumor true that the kids are picking the name, school colors, and mascots is this true? If this is true should the school board be worried if the name doesn’t work out?
