The Good I Found In Today

Parts of today really tested my patience. To shake it off, I’m going to list things that made it better, in absolutely no order.

  • A hot shower and favorite old T-shirt so soft, it is unrivaled by the very finest hotel sheets.
  • Chocolate at an irresponsible hour.
  • Waking up to talk to you.
  • Lori’s done with chemo and started radiation, and she’s happy to trade “sick” for “tired”. When I told her she was beautiful, no – really beautiful, her face lit up and from that smile, I KNOW she heard and believed me. She is, you know. She’s beautiful.
  • Sunshine so sweet it was like soaking in Yeeeeeeeeeeeees.
  • My dog wagging his tail when I catch him looking at me.
  • Deciding to wear jeans to work tomorrow. Planned rebellion can feel good.
  • Finding little purple flowers in the grass.
  • Driving home with the windows down and my hair all over the place.
  • Old pictures of friends I miss.
  • Perfect coffee. Followed by more perfect coffee.

It might seem like this has nothing to do with Putnam County, but all of these things happened here. And sometimes that’s good enough.

Here’s another: gave your moo card to a friend who is thinking about starting a blog. Said, “you need to read Sarah’s blog, she is the bestest of the best, and you will love the way she writes”

    Hugs,

Your list is perfect. Tell Lori this this old broad and about 6,000 people are dragging they rumps around Coconut Point this morning to save second base. I will run super, extra hard for Lori, today.

I think that first windows-down drive of the springtime is the best thing in the world.
