Want to Help Keep a WV Family Fed?
Hunters Helping the Hungry is a program that takes venison donated by local hunters, processes it and gives it to local food charities to feed our own area families in need. The venison is divided into two pound packages and distributed to food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers and many more.
The program relies on the generosity of our hunters and our citizens to pay for the cost of processing the meat. The WVDNR is actively searching for more contributors to keep this program going. If you’re interested in helping, you may send a donation to:

This year may be more difficult than most for a lot of area families. If your family has been blessed, consider paying it forward and sharing your blessings with another family. It’s one of the things that makes West Virginia such a great place to live, we take care of each other.

A fabulous program. More other states should be doing it. Ohio, for example, I had two deer bounce off of my car in one summer. My mother had a room full of company and every single person had hit a deer with their car. With such depression hitting the rust belt it would be a fantastic way to solve two issues and keep families healthy.
