WV Goes Big Time!
In case you haven’t heard, West Virginia will be getting a new area code!
Yes, the seven million possible phone numbers available to us just isn’t quite enough anymore (thank you, cell phones) and in order to keep up with demand, the state will be split. The Southern portion will retain our 304 while the North will get a number that has not yet been assigned.

The verdict is still out — the new area code could still go just to new cell phone numbers instead of splitting the state. They’re still working out the details.
